Here in America, we are celebrating Thanksgiving today. If you have ever celebrated it with an American, you will probably think that it is all about eating way too much, watching parades and/or American football, and fighting with your family. But its true meaning lies in counting your blessings, in showing gratitude for what you have. So today, as I spend the day in the kitchen cooking and then eating way too much food and maybe watching some Europa League, I will also take some time to reflect and be thankful.
I realized as I started to write this that I have always had Champions League to write about during this week. Much like Charlie Brown's friends' disappointment in A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving when they were served toast, popcorn, pretzels, and jelly beans instead of the turkey feast they were expecting, Milan this season have seemed a little meager and the proverbial table a little empty without European competition. But like Charlie Brown and his friends discovered, the food wasn't as important as they thought, as they had much to be thankful for in each other.
And so, as I count all of my traditional blessings and try not to overdose on turkey and pumpkin pie, I will also be grateful for all of you who share Milan with me in so many different ways. Thank you to those of you who read, listen, comment, interact with me on Twitter, have written guest posts, been my guests on the podcasts, and more. I'm eternally grateful for Milan, for which my heart beats always and forever. But I am especially grateful to have people like all of you to share it with, too, in good times and the toast and popcorn times, too. Thank you!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
