Seven and a half years ago, Zlatan
Ibrahimovic left AC Milan under protest and blessed PSG with his giant,
hulking, awesomeness. Yesterday, that same giant, hulking awesomeness returned
once again, a little older but still every bit as awesome. Not only is his
mentality and experience a huge boost to our young, beleaguered team, but his
return is like a healing salve to the club that took a huge turn for the worse
when he left in 2012. Finally, Ibra.
At last |
From Boban greeting him as he stepped off the plane to him
meeting new management and staff and reuniting with old friends, the pictures
bring both hope and healing to fans
who have suffered continual crisis since his departure.
Happy to be back |
Ibrahimovic won’t solve all of Milan’s problems, certainly
not overnight. He faces the challenge of breaking the curse that past players
who return to Milan have had, where their second term was comparatively
unsuccessful. He’ll boost shirt and ticket sales, though, and help with
marketing. Most importantly, he represents a restoration of faith in the club
and from the club. He represents a deity-sized helping of awesomeness and hope
for the future that no other player so far has been able to bring since he
left. Finally, Ibra
