Milan-Genoa Preview: Good Friday

Traditionally, on Easter weekend, all Serie A teams play on Saturday. However, Milan have a Coppa Italia Semifinal second leg match to play on Tuesday, so we were mercifully allowed to play on Friday instead. We face a Genoa side who changed coaches since we last met, and under Blessin, they drew seven straight matches, but still sit in 19th place on the table. Milan, on the other hand, are clinging to first place after six straight clean sheets, including back to back goalless draws. Will Milan break our scoring drought and be able to take all three points to truly make it a Good Friday?

We're due for a good Friday

Following their seven straight draws, Genoa managed a one goal win over Torino, and then have lost their last two matches. Most recently, they were pummeled 4-1 by Lazio on Sunday. For that match, Blessin lined up Sirigu; Hefti, Maksimović, Østigård, Vásquez; Galdames, Badelj; Melegoni, Amiri, Portanova; and Piccoli. He will be missing Rovella and Bani to injury, with Cambiaso and Vanheusden unlikely as of this writing.

Brahim Díaz could find his form again in this one

Pioli will be missing his Vikings, Kjaer and Ibrahimović, as well as Florenzi and Castillejo. Romagnoli is still in doubt, but he will have Rebić and Bennacer back for this one. The big question is will he have goals? Milan have been unable to score since Bennacer's beautiful goal against Cagliari. Milan have been struggling with finishing as it is, but Genoa have been very strong defensively, which will make it even more difficult. Hopefully someone can break the deadlock and get the goals flowing again for Milan and make this a very Good Friday indeed.
