Much has been spoken all year about Massimiliano Allegri and
his tenure at AC Milan. Many calling for him to be sacked, others saying to
trust in him, still others saying there simply wasn’t a better option at this
point. And while his ultimate judgment for this season seems to be coming at
the final whistle of the final match of this season, I would like to raise a
concern that no one else seems to be making: the tenure of Milanello, the red
devil mascot for Milan.
That’s right. Some people are focused on the mercato, or
Allegri’s job, but there is a potentially more sinister member of the club
sucking up cash and flying under the radar. Should this demon stay on? Does he
really represent the AC Milan values and ideals? Is he FFP compliant? So many
questions that no one else is asking.
So today, I ask you, the reader to help make this decision.
Should Milanello be sacked? Should he be replaced with a more FFP-looking
mascot? Or should we look to the future and find ourselves a fiery Balrog-type
mascot to instill fear in our opponents? These important questions have not been
raised, and it is time that you weighed in. This is very important, the future
of mascots at the club could depend on your answer. Make your decision
carefully. And remember to check back later for the results.
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to
influence the truly important matters at AC Milan.
My lawyers have asked me to inform you that this poll has no
bearing whatsoever on the powers that be at AC Milan. Furthermore, there is no
indication whatsoever that Milanello’s job is in question, or that fiery
Balrogs actually exist. Your vote only encourages this type of ridiculous post,
and has no actual power in real life. Although they do admit that a Balrog
mascot that actually lit on fire would be freaking awesome.
