Recorded
on Sunday after the first Lazio match, there was plenty to talk about on and
off the pitch. With three straight wins, something we haven’t seen since the
beginning of the season, that elusive optimism has popped up once again for
Milan fans everywhere. It may not last, but for now we have something to smile
about.

Udinese-Milan
Preview: Old Friends
So Sunday, we
meet Udinese, and along with them, our old friend Massimo Oddo. He has
revolutionized this team since being appointed as head coach about a week
before Gattuso took over Milan’s first team. Oddo’s impact was immediate and
fairly steady, whereas Gattuso’s impact has only recently come to some
fruition. Udinese are only two points behind us on the table, so there is
plenty at stake as we travel away to the Dacia Arena.
Which friend will triumph? Or will they share the points? |
After slipping
up a bit, Udinese won their last match, 1-0 against Genoa. For that match, Oddo
lined up Bizzari; Danilo, Samir, Nuytinck, Jankto, Fofana, Behrami, Pezzella,
Stryger Larsen, Lasagna, and De Paul. He’s got pretty much a full squad to
greet us, so expect him to line up his strongest eleven.
Gattuso will
be missing Rodriguez again who has been suffering from a stomach bug. And
although Conti is slowly starting to come back to training, he will still be out
for a while. Storari is recovering, but will still not be available, and with
Gabriel being loaned out to Empoli this week, look for a Primavera keeper to be
called up with the brothers Donnarumma.
Three points
would be amazing in this match, but this will be a very tough match for sure.
Even with all of the consistency and success of late, we cannot underestimate
this opponent. There’s never any love lost when there is a meeting of old
friends.
