This match will be played on November 8th, and will be Milan's penultimate match of the year, officially. This World Cup is really messing things up. But we are nearly to the break, and our last away match of the calendar year is not too far away to the newly promoted Lombardy side Cremonese. With all of the injuries and suspensions, I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing to be so near our year's end, but here we are.

Cremonese sit in the relegation zone, not a big surprise for a newly promoted side without all of the resources of a bigger club. They are still without a win, but have six draws and seven losses in Serie A this season. Their most recent match was a 2-2 draw with 9th place Salernitana on Saturday. For that match, under fire manager Massimiliano Alvini lined up: Carnesecchi; Aiwu, Hendry, Lochoshvili; Sernicola, former Milan player-from-loan Meïté, Pickel, Quagliata; Buonaiuto; former Milan youth player Frank Tsadjout, and Okereke.

Milan fans will be a little sad that Alvini will be missing his starting goalkeeper, our Scudetto hero Ionut Radu to injury, the man who helped put us ahead of Inter with his spectacular appearance against Bologna last season. Although Milan fans adore him so much, they will probably be grateful to not have to risk scoring on him after his heroics. Alvini will also be missing Chiriches, Ascacibar, and Dessers to injury.

As if Pioli has not had enough headaches already with long-term injuries, he will also be missing Theo Hernández and Giroud to suspension after Saturday's eventful win over Spezia. The injured players, of course, are out through at least January and are: Ibrahimović, Florenzi, Calabria, Maignan, and Saelemaekers. Reports are that Pioli may even try to give still other starters some rest, which sounds even more frightening. As mentioned on the last podcast, having seven players out, six of them starters, is nauseating enough.

Milan have struggled a lot away this season. Many feel that we should easily take all three points against a team like Cremonese, but relegation-threatened teams are often the most dangerous, because they are the most desperate for points. Milan will want to put on a good show and keep up with the other Scudetto challengers while not risking unnecessary injury for players heading to Qatar. We will need all three points to impress in the penultimate match of the year.
