This week marked the thirteenth anniversary of the Milan Obsession Blog and the eleventh anniversary of the Milan Obsession Podcast. To help mark the occasion and help recap recent matches and discuss all things Milan, I invited Sal from the Curva Mundial Podcast back on. We took a quick trip down memory lane, talked about the amazing new fourth kits from Los Angeles streetwear company PLEASURES, then talked about recent matches and the current state of Milan, and more.

Last week's starting 11 vs. Rennes at San Siro. |
Stade Rennais FC-AC Milan Preview: Unfinished Business
Milan head to France on Thursday with a 3-0 lead over Rennes in the Europa League playoffs. After a disappointing 4-2 loss to Monza on Sunday, it is expected that Pioli will rotate a few players. Giroud is likely to start on the bench, with Jović starting, while it is reported that Chukwueze or Okafor will start in place of Pulisic and Musah will play next to Bennacer in the midfield. Kjaer is likely to play next to Gabbia in defense after being rested on Sunday. Other than that, Pioli is likely to start his strongest available players.
|
Look who's back in training! |
After Kalulu returned to training this past week, Tomori also returned to training with the group on Wednesday. However neither player will be ready to play yet. Also out is Pobega, who is not expected to return until April. Calabria also has not yet recovered from his muscle injury. Bennacer was originally reported to be in doubt, but should be available.

Hoping to pass this hurdle without any further injuries. |
Julien Stephán will still be missing Le Fée and Rieder, as well as Nagida to injury. Rennes defeated relegation zone Clermont Foot 63 with a score of 3-1 on Sunday, so will have confidence as well as the advantage of playing at home. Normally, a 3-0 deficit in Europe would seem fairly certain, but Milan know all too well that 3-0 is not a lead you can count on to win. So on Thursday, they need to make sure they take care of their unfinished business.
Our next match is
